Fly Fishing Lesson At GSFF we offer tutorials to those who are new to the sport of fly fishing. Our lessons focus on techniques that have proven to be successful on the Bow River. Our tutorials can be catered to your needs, experience, and the season. We like to give our lessons at the Bow River to be able to provide life-like demonstrations. Our introduction package is scripted and consists of the following: safety on the water including weather preparations Bow River including conservation and fly fishing etiquette how to properly handle caught fish fly fishing clothing and essential gear basic entomology (insects and aquatic life) and artificial flies reading the water fly fishing equipment casting fundamentals achieving natural presentations with your artificial flies dry fly fishing and techniques nymph fly fishing and techniques streamer fly fishing and techniques Walk-and-Wade At GSFF we offer walk-and-wade guided trips. A typical day would include fly fishing a stretch of the Bow River with personal instruction techniques and strategies and discussion on any on all aspects of fly fishing.        Half-Day Drifts At GSFF our half-day drifts are intended for those with time as a limiting factor. They are great for those who want to experience drift boat fishing for the first time and are excellent for an after-work evening drift. The drifts are limited to a couple of stretches of the river from the Glenmore bridge to Policeman Flats boat launch. Full-Day Drifts At GSFF our full-day drifts are intended for those who have the time to enjoy a real adventure on the Bow River. Our trips include lessons and tips if required, a shore lunch, and transportation back to the put-in location. These trips are a fantastic way to view the Bow River. We can take one or two people per boat for fishing, photography, or simply sight-seeing enjoying the river valley. The boat and guide are basically yours for the day.
