The Goldenstone Fly Tying Bench has been designed by Kurt Chenuz ...the owner of Goldenstone Fly Fishing. He has combined his passion for fly tying, woodworking, and engineering in designing and buiding these beautiful yet highly functional fly tying benches. This fly tying bench was prototyped and utilised by experienced fly tiers before the final design was adopted. Kurt designed this fly tying bench to be portable and enable him to tie flies while sitting in his recliner watching TV.
This fly bench is made from solid pine. Kurt has used fine woodworking techniques in the construction of the fly bench. All joints are rabbeted and glued. The sides are fitted into the main table using dato joinery for life-long durability. This fly bench is stained with golden oak stain and finished with multiple coats of lacquer. The hardware is solid brass and has been choosen for its durability and strength to ensure life-long trouble-free use.
The table measures 26 inches wide by 5 inches high by 16 inches in depth. The solid brass thread holders add an additional 3 inches to the height. The crystal flash holder is rotatable and removeable and is 15 inches in height. It fits snuggly into the back cape storage area.
Below is an image showing a Norvis and light mounted on the table. There is plenty of space in the work area for a vice with its own platform. Clamp-on vices are to be mounted on the front edge of the working area. As with all of Kurt's products, they are tested for durability and designed to be heir looms passed from one generation to the next. Please review the pictures and take note of the numerous attributes of this table.
